Daniel März mori mësimet e tij të para për kitarë në moshën nëntë vjeç nga Thomas Oldenbürger. Daniel März received his first guitar lessons at the age of nine from Thomas Oldenbürger. In 2014, he switched to the guitar class of Prof. Hubert Käppel at the International Guitar Academy Koblenz and continued his studies with Prof. Käppel at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln. He also participated in master classes with numerous renowned guitarists and professors, such as Pepe Romero, Aniello Desiderio, Scott Tennant, Göran Söllscher, and Costas Cotsiolis, among others. He is a prize-winner of the regional, state, and national competitions “Jugend musiziert” (Youth Makes Music). In 2013 and 2018, he won first prizes and special prizes at the International Karl-Adler Music Competition in Stuttgart in the chamber music category, and in March 2014, he also won a first prize along with a special prize at the chamber music competition in Gevelsberg. In 2020, he was also the winner of the guitar competition “Artesano – Guitarist of the Year 2020.” His performances take him as a soloist, as well as with the Quartett Rheinsaiten and the Duo Jucunda, both domestically and internationally. He works as a guitar teacher at the music school of the city of Dormagen and he is the head of the plucked instruments department, “Jugend musiziert,” and preparatory studies (SVA). Additionally, he serves as a jury member and lecturer at various music competitions and festivals, including the regional, state, and national competitions “Jugend musiziert” and at international guitar festivals. Since 2015, he has been the artistic director of the concert series Jüchener Gitarrenkonzerte alongside Arne Harder, and since 2016, they have been leading the International Guitar Festival Jüchen. Thomas Oldenbürger studied instrumental pedagogy with a major in guitar with Ansgar Krause at the Musikhochschule Köln. He then pursued advanced studies in the university class with Hubert Käppel, which he completed “with distinction,” as well as the concert examination. His studies were complemented by participation in master classes with David Tannenbaum, Odair Assad, the “Los Angeles Guitar Quartet,” and others. From 1986 to 2005, he performed as part of the “Kölner Gitarrenduo,” with which he won national and international prizes (first prize at the Federal Competition “Jugend musiziert” in Saarbrücken, third prize at the “Concours internationale de guitare en duo” in Montélimar, France), completed numerous concerts both nationally and internationally, and made appearances on radio and television, as well as recording four CDs. For over 20 years, he led guitar classes at various municipal music schools in the Rhein-Sieg district and the Rhein-Kreis Neuss and served as the director of the “Pro Musica Jüchen” music school for 13 years, before becoming the head of the music department at VHS Köln in 2015 and taking over the concert and competition office of the Rheinische Musikschule Köln in 2017. Since 2022, he has served as the head of the string instruments department and as a guitar teacher at the Musikschule Rhein-Kreis Neuss.
